Overview

Project managed the Connected Futures showcase conference, a two-day event hosted by the Youth Futures Foundation bringing together policymakers, funders, researchers, employers and young people to share learning from the first year of the organisation’s flagship Connected Futures programme.

The programme supports local partnerships across England to develop new approaches to tackling youth unemployment through place-based, youth-led systems change. The event created a platform to share insights, evidence and emerging solutions from participating regions and research partners.

Scale

  • Two-day event programme across two central London venues

  • 150–200 attendees including policymakers, funders, employers and youth sector leaders

  • Participation from eight regional partnerships across England

  • Speakers from government departments, research institutions and youth organisations.

Work delivered

  • Led end-to-end project management of the event across planning, delivery and evaluation phases

  • Coordinated a multi-format programme including keynote sessions, panel discussions, breakout workshops and interactive activities

  • Managed logistics across two venues and multiple conference spaces

  • Coordinated speaker management and briefings across research partners, policymakers and programme leads

  • Oversaw attendee registration, room management and session coordination

  • Supported the design of interactive formats including poster sessions, fishbowl discussions and youth-led sessions

  • Ensured safeguarding measures were in place to support young participants attending the event.

Impact

The conference provided an important milestone for the Connected Futures programme, bringing together stakeholders from across government, research and the youth sector to share evidence and insights from the programme’s first year. The event helped strengthen collaboration between partners and highlighted emerging approaches to improving youth employment outcomes for young people facing barriers.
